Claire Herzog is a versatile musician best known for her coloratura soprano voice which shines in solo and ensemble settings. In addition to classical engagements, she frequently sings and plays violin in jazz and bluegrass groups, as well as in her family band, “Eclectica”.
Claire attended Missouri State University (MSU) for her undergraduate degree in Vocal & Choral Music Education and her master’s degree in Vocal Performance, during which she taught applied- and class-voice courses. Her collegiate experience included extensive travel domestically and abroad with the MSU Chorale, including tours to Italy, Scandinavia, China, Spain, and South Africa. In Fall 2025, Claire begins her DMA (Doctor of Musical Arts) in Vocal Pedagogy through Shenandoah University online, with graduation expected in 2028.
Beginning at age six, Claire’s violin education has included fifteen years of private lessons, participation in masterclasses, recitals, auditioned orchestras, competitions, and frequent professional gigs since the age of thirteen.
In combination with her position on faculty at Evangel University as a voice professor (2022-present), Claire serves the Springfield, MO community teaching private voice lessons and visiting 417-area schools as a vocal/choral clinician. When not teaching, she can be found preparing for and performing gigs, painting or needle felting beautiful landscapes, playing fetch with her cavapoo puppy Taj, reading with a cup of coffee or tea in hand, and enjoying time with her husband Philip and their friends and family.
